Amish Steak (Print Version)
Ingredients:

1 lb Ground Beef, raw.

1 cup Milk, for binding.

1 cup Cracker Crumbs, finely crushed.

1 tsp Salt, for seasoning.

¼ tsp Black Pepper, freshly ground.

1 small Onion, finely chopped.
07 -
1 (10.5 oz) can Cream of Mushroom Soup.

1 (10.5 oz) can Water or Broth.
Instructions:

In a bowl, combine ground beef, milk, cracker crumbs, salt, pepper, and onion until well mixed.

Shape the beef mixture into a loaf. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Slice the chilled loaf into ½-inch thick slices or patties. Lightly dredge in flour.

In a skillet, pan-fry slices over medium-high heat until browned on both sides.

In a bowl, whisk together the mushroom soup and water/broth.

Place the browned slices in a baking dish and pour the mushroom gravy over them. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour until hot and thickened.

Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles, smothered in gravy.
