Banana Cinnamon Rolls (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup warm milk.
02 - 2¼ tsp active dry yeast.
03 - ½ cup granulated sugar.
04 - ½ cup unsalted butter, softened.
05 - 2 large eggs.
06 - 1 cup mashed banana (about 2 medium bananas).
07 - 1 tsp salt.
08 - 4 cups all-purpose flour.
09 - ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (for the filling).
10 - 1 cup brown sugar (for the filling).
11 - 2 tbsp ground cinnamon (for the filling).
12 - ½ cup walnuts, chopped (optional).
13 - 4 oz cream cheese, softened (for the icing).
14 - ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (for the icing).
15 - 1½ cups powdered sugar (for the icing).
16 - ½ tsp vanilla extract (for the icing).

Instructions:

01 - In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
02 - Stir in softened butter, beaten eggs, salt, and mashed bananas until well blended.
03 - Gradually mix in flour, forming a soft dough. Knead on a floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth.
04 - Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
05 - For the filling, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a separate bowl until well combined.
06 - Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a 20x14-inch rectangle. Spread the cinnamon-sugar filling evenly over the dough. Sprinkle chopped walnuts if using.
07 - Roll the dough tightly from the long side to form a log, then slice into 12 rolls.
08 - Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for an additional 30 minutes.
09 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cinnamon rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
10 - While the rolls are baking, beat together the softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
11 - Once the rolls are done, spread the icing over the warm rolls.
