Dream Roll (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 4 large eggs, separated.
02 - ¾ cup granulated sugar.
03 - 1 cup all-purpose flour.
04 - ¼ cup cocoa powder.
05 - 1 tsp baking powder.
06 - ½ tsp salt.
07 - ¼ cup milk.
08 - 1 tsp vanilla extract.
09 - 2 ripe bananas, sliced.
10 - 1 cup heavy cream.
11 - 2 tbsp powdered sugar.
12 - ½ tsp vanilla extract.
13 - 1 cup chocolate ganache.
14 - Chocolate shavings (for garnish).

Instructions:

01 - Heat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
02 - Beat the egg yolks with ½ cup sugar until the mixture is thick and light.
03 - In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
04 - Whip the egg whites until soft peaks form, then gradually add the remaining sugar to achieve stiff peaks.
05 - Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the yolk mixture, then carefully fold in the dry ingredients.
06 - Spread the batter evenly onto the prepared pan.
07 - Bake for about 12 to 15 minutes, until the cake is set.
08 - Turn the cake onto a sugared towel, roll it gently with the towel, and let it cool.
09 - Beat the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
10 - Unroll the cooled cake, spread the whipped cream mixture over it, and place sliced bananas evenly on top.
11 - Carefully roll the cake back up, maintaining a firm shape.
12 - Top with chocolate ganache and garnish with chocolate shavings.
13 - Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.

Notes:

01 - Use ripe bananas for a more intense banana flavor.
02 - Refrigerating the cake helps the flavors meld and makes it easier to slice.
