Banana Cinnamon Rolls (Print Version)
Ingredients:

¾ cup warm milk (110°F).

2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet).

1 large egg, lightly beaten.

⅔ cup mashed bananas (about 2 bananas).

5 ¼ cups all-purpose flour.

1 tsp salt.

¼ cup granulated sugar.

10 tbsp unsalted butter, cubed.

½ cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling).

¾ cup brown sugar (for filling).

1 tbsp ground cinnamon (for filling).

2 bananas, sliced thin (for filling).

4 oz cream cheese, softened (for icing).

4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened (for icing).

1 cup powdered sugar (for icing).

1 tsp vanilla extract (for icing).
Instructions:

Warm the milk to 110°F and sprinkle the yeast on top. Let sit for 10 minutes until frothy.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cubed butter and mix until crumbly. Pour in the yeast mixture, egg, and mashed bananas. Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

In a bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Set aside.

After the dough has risen, roll it out into a large rectangle. Spread the cinnamon-banana filling evenly over the dough, then layer thinly sliced bananas on top.

Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 rolls. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for 20 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 28-33 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

While the rolls bake, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together. Mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.

Spread the cream cheese icing over the warm rolls and enjoy!.
