Ingredients:

1 ½ lbs lean ground beef (90/10).

1 small sweet onion (diced).

1 small green bell pepper (diced).

2 tbsp tomato paste.

3 cloves garlic (minced).

1 tsp smoked paprika.

1 tsp chili powder.

1/8 tsp cayenne pepper.

1 ½ cups beef stock.

1 cup ketchup.

2 tbsp Dijon mustard.

2 tsp Worcestershire sauce.

1 tbsp brown sugar.

Kosher salt and black pepper (to taste).
Instructions:

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes. Drain excess fat.

Stir in diced onion and bell pepper. Cook until tender, about 3-4 minutes.

Add tomato paste, minced garlic, smoked paprika, chili powder, and cayenne pepper. Stir until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Pour in beef stock, scraping the skillet’s bottom to deglaze. Stir in ketchup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar.

Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and flavors blend, about 15-20 minutes.

Pile the saucy beef mixture onto toasted buns and serve immediately.
