Blueberry Cookies (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - Unsalted butter: 1/2 cup, softened for creaminess.
02 - Brown sugar: 1/4 cup, for sweetness and moisture.
03 - Salt: 1/4 tsp, to balance the sweetness.
04 - All-purpose flour: 1 1/2 cups, for structure.
05 - Unsweetened cocoa powder: 1/2 cup, for chocolate richness.

07 - Granulated sugar: 3/4 cup, for sweetness.
08 - Egg: 1 large, for binding.
09 - Vanilla extract: 1 tsp, for flavor.
10 - Blueberry jam: 1/2 cup, for the filling.
11 - Purple food coloring: optional, for color enhancement.
12 - Granulated sugar: 1/4 cup, for sprinkling.

Instructions:

01 - Set the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
03 - In a larger bowl, cream the softened butter with both the granulated and brown sugars until the mixture is light and fluffy.
04 - Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, beating until well combined.
05 - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Add purple food coloring if desired.
06 - Scoop tablespoons of dough, flatten each one, and place a small amount of blueberry jam in the center. Wrap the dough around the jam, forming balls, and place them on the baking sheet.
07 - Sprinkle the surface of the cookies with granulated sugar and bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.
08 - Allow the cookies to cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
