Chex Scotcheroos (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 6 cups Chex cereal (corn or rice).
02 - 1 cup light corn syrup.
03 - 1 cup granulated sugar.
04 - 1 cup creamy peanut butter.
05 - 1 cup butterscotch chips.
06 - 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Instructions:

01 - Place 6 cups of Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl.
02 - In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup light corn syrup and 1 cup granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture starts to boil. Remove from heat.
03 - Stir 1 cup creamy peanut butter into the hot syrup until smooth.
04 - Pour the peanut butter mixture over the Chex cereal, folding gently to coat evenly.
05 - Grease or line a 9x13-inch pan. Press the cereal mixture into the pan, smoothing the top.
06 - Melt 1 cup butterscotch chips and 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave, stirring until smooth.
07 - Spread the melted chocolate-butterscotch mixture over the cereal layer.
08 - Let set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm. Cut into squares to serve.
