Copycat Apple Pie (Print Version)
Ingredients:

2 large apples, peeled and diced.

1/4 cup granulated sugar.

1 tbsp brown sugar.

1/2 tsp cinnamon.

1 tbsp cornstarch.
06 -
1 tbsp lemon juice.

2 cups all-purpose flour.

1 tbsp granulated sugar.

1/2 tsp salt.

3/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed.

5-6 tbsp cold water.
Instructions:

In a saucepan, combine diced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and lemon juice.

Cook over medium heat until the apples are soft and the sauce thickens. Let the filling cool.

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt for the crust.

Cut in cold, cubed butter until the mixture becomes crumbly.

Add cold water one tablespoon at a time until the dough forms.

Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into rectangles.

Place a spoonful of the apple filling on one side of each rectangle, fold the dough over, and crimp the edges with a fork to seal.

Brush with egg wash and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Use Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples for a tart flavor.

Chill the dough before rolling for a flakier crust.

Egg wash helps achieve a golden brown color on the crust.
