Chicken Biscuits (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1.5–2 lbs Chicken Tenders (for fried chicken).
02 - 1.5 cups All-Purpose Flour (for fried chicken).
03 - 1 tsp Kosher Salt (for fried chicken).
04 - 1/4 tsp Black Pepper (for fried chicken).
05 - 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder (for fried chicken).
06 - 1/4 tsp Smoked Paprika (for fried chicken).
07 - 1 Large Egg + 2 tbsp Water (beaten, for fried chicken).
08 - Vegetable Oil (for frying chicken).
09 - 2 cups All-Purpose Flour (for biscuits).
10 - 1 tbsp Baking Powder (for biscuits).
11 - 1 tsp Kosher Salt (for biscuits).
12 - 1/4 tsp Baking Soda (for biscuits).
13 - 1/2 cup Cold Butter (for biscuits).
14 - 3/4 cup Buttermilk (for biscuits).
15 - 1/4 cup Melted Butter (for brushing biscuits).
16 - 1 cup Honey (for hot honey).
17 - 2 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (for hot honey).
18 - 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar (for hot honey).

Instructions:

01 - In a bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Whisk egg and water in another dish.
02 - Dredge chicken tenders in the seasoned flour, dip in egg wash, and coat again in flour. Heat oil to 365°F and fry chicken for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
03 - Preheat oven to 450°F. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Cut cold butter into the dry ingredients until crumbly.
04 - Add buttermilk to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Roll out the dough, fold several times for flakiness, and cut out biscuits. Bake for 15-17 minutes, then brush with melted butter.
05 - In a saucepan, heat honey and red pepper flakes over low heat. Simmer for 1 minute, then remove from heat and stir in apple cider vinegar.
06 - Split biscuits in half. Add a fried chicken tender to each biscuit and drizzle with hot honey. Serve with pickles if desired.
