Jalapeño Turkey Burgers (Print Version)
Ingredients:
01 -
Cream cheese, softened: 3 oz.
02 -
Cheddar cheese, grated: 3 oz.
03 -
Jalapeño peppers, minced: 1-2, depending on spice preference.
04 -
Garlic, minced: 2 cloves.
05 -
Ground turkey: 2 lbs.
06 -
Almond flour: 1/2 cup.
07 -
Onion, finely minced: 2 tablespoons.
08 -
Salt: 1 teaspoon.
09 -
Black pepper: 3/4 teaspoon.
10 -
Cumin: 1/2 teaspoon.
11 -
Olive oil: 1-2 tablespoons, for grilling.
12 -
Cooked bacon slices: 6.
13 -
Optional: Lettuce wraps for serving.
Instructions:
01 -
Mix together softened cream cheese, grated cheddar, minced jalapeños, and minced garlic in a medium bowl, then set aside.
02 -
In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, almond flour, minced onion, salt, black pepper, and cumin until thoroughly mixed.
03 -
Use a burger press with parchment paper to form patties: fill halfway with the turkey mixture, add the cheese filling, and top with more turkey mixture. Seal the edges well.
04 -
If hand-stuffing, create a well in the turkey portions for the cheese filling, cover with more turkey, and seal carefully.
05 -
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly coat the burgers with olive oil.
06 -
Grill each side for 7-8 minutes, ensuring the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
07 -
Top each burger with crispy bacon slices and serve with lettuce wraps or traditional buns, as preferred.
Notes:
01 -
A healthier take on burgers, these stuffed turkey patties are rich in flavor thanks to the jalapeños, cream cheese, and cheddar mixture. Bacon adds an extra layer of indulgence, while lettuce wraps keep the dish lighter.
