Ingredients:

01 - 1 lb potato gnocchi.
02 - 2 tbsp olive oil.
03 - 1 lb mixed mushrooms (cremini, shiitake, or oyster), sliced.
04 - 2 cloves garlic, minced (for mushrooms).
05 - 1 tbsp unsalted butter (for mushrooms).
06 - Salt and pepper to taste (for mushrooms).
07 - Fresh parsley (for garnish).
08 - 1 cup heavy cream (for sauce).
09 - 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for sauce).
10 - 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth (for sauce).
11 - 1 tbsp unsalted butter (for sauce).
12 - 1 clove garlic, minced (for sauce).
13 - Salt and pepper to taste (for sauce).
14 - A pinch of nutmeg (optional, for sauce).

Instructions:

01 - Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
02 - Add minced garlic and butter to the skillet. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove mushrooms from the skillet and set aside.
03 - Boil gnocchi in salted water according to package directions (typically 2-3 minutes). Drain and set aside.
04 - In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
05 - Stir in heavy cream and broth. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
06 - Gradually whisk in grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Add a pinch of nutmeg, if desired. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
07 - Combine the cooked gnocchi and sautéed mushrooms with the Parmesan cream sauce. Toss to coat and heat through for 2-3 minutes.
08 - Serve the gnocchi hot, garnished with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese.
