Caramel Pretzel Bars (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups crushed pretzels.
02 - 1 cup caramel bits or soft caramels (approx. 30-35 pieces), unwrapped.
03 - 2 tbsp heavy cream.
04 - 1 cup milk chocolate chips.
05 - 1/2 cup peanut butter.
06 - Sea salt, for sprinkling (optional).

Instructions:

01 - Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, letting the edges hang over for easy removal later.
02 - Spread the crushed pretzels evenly across the bottom of the prepared pan.
03 - In a microwave-safe bowl, combine caramel bits (or unwrapped caramels) with heavy cream. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until melted and smooth. Pour the melted caramel over the pretzel layer, spreading evenly with a spatula. Let it cool for a few minutes.
04 - In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and peanut butter together in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Pour the chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the caramel layer, spreading evenly.
05 - Refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours, or until fully set.
06 - Once set, lift the bars out of the pan using the parchment paper. Sprinkle with sea salt (if desired) and cut into squares or bars.

Notes:
