Nutella Baklava (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 (16 oz) package phyllo dough, thawed: For flaky layers.
02 - 1 cup unsalted butter, melted: Adds richness and helps layers crisp.
03 - 1½ cups Nutella: Provides a creamy, chocolate-hazelnut filling.
04 - 1½ cups chopped hazelnuts: Adds crunch and nutty flavor.
05 - ¾ cup honey: Sweetens and complements the Nutella.
06 - ¼ cup water: For the syrup.
07 - ¼ cup sugar: Adds sweetness to the syrup.
08 - 1 tsp vanilla extract: Adds flavor to the syrup.

Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.
02 - Place one sheet of phyllo dough in the baking dish and brush with melted butter. Repeat until ten layers are formed.
03 - Spread a layer of Nutella over the phyllo sheets, followed by half of the chopped hazelnuts.
04 - Add another ten layers of phyllo, brushing each with melted butter.
05 - Spread the remaining Nutella and hazelnuts over the layers.
06 - Finish with ten more layers of buttered phyllo sheets.
07 - Slice the baklava into desired shapes (squares or diamonds) before baking.
08 - Bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown.
09 - In a saucepan, combine honey, water, sugar, and vanilla extract. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
10 - Pour the hot syrup over the freshly baked baklava and let it cool before serving.
