Red Velvet Cinnamon Rolls (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup warm milk (110°F).
02 - 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast.
03 - ½ cup granulated sugar.
04 - ¼ cup melted unsalted butter.
05 - 2 large eggs.
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
07 - 4 cups all-purpose flour.
08 - 2 tablespoons cocoa powder.
09 - 1 teaspoon salt.
10 - 2 tablespoons red food coloring.
11 - ½ cup unsalted butter (softened).
12 - 1 cup brown sugar.
13 - 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon.
14 - 4 ounces cream cheese (softened).
15 - ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened).
16 - 2 cups powdered sugar.
17 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
18 - 2 tablespoons milk.

Instructions:

01 - In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
02 - Add sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
03 - In another bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
04 - Add red food coloring and knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
05 - Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
06 - Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl until well combined.
07 - Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a 16x12 inch rectangle.
08 - Spread cinnamon filling evenly over the dough.
09 - Roll the dough tightly from the longer side into a log. Cut into 12 even slices.
10 - Place rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
11 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
12 - Beat cream cheese and butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk, beating until smooth and spreadable.
13 - Let rolls cool for a few minutes before spreading cream cheese frosting over them.
14 - Serve warm and enjoy!.

Notes:

01 - For best results, make sure your yeast is fresh.
02 - Add more or less food coloring depending on the intensity of red you prefer.
03 - Store leftover rolls in an airtight container; they reheat well in the microwave.
