Salted Caramel Cookie Bars (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup unsalted butter, softened.
02 - 1 cup brown sugar, packed.
03 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar.
04 - 2 large eggs.
05 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
06 - 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour.
07 - 1 teaspoon baking soda.
08 - 1/2 teaspoon salt.
09 - 1 cup chocolate chips.
10 - 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade).
11 - Sea salt for topping.

Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
03 - Mix in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
04 - In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
05 - Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
06 - Spread half of the cookie dough evenly in the prepared pan. Drizzle half of the salted caramel sauce over the dough.
07 - Drop spoonfuls of the remaining cookie dough on top of the caramel layer. Drizzle with the remaining caramel sauce and sprinkle with sea salt.
08 - Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
09 - Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars. Enjoy your decadent salted caramel chocolate chip cookie bars!.
