Fried Apples (Print Version)

Ingredients:

01 - 6 large apples (Granny Smith or Golden Delicious), peeled, cored, and sliced.
02 - ½ cup brown sugar, packed.
03 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
04 - ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg.
05 - ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted.
06 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
07 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice.
08 - ½ cup apple juice or apple cider.
09 - Pinch of salt.

Instructions:

01 - Place the peeled and sliced apples into the slow cooker.
02 - In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Sprinkle this mixture over the apples in the slow cooker.
03 - In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, cornstarch, lemon juice, and apple juice until smooth. Pour this mixture over the apples and gently toss to coat them evenly.
04 - Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 3-4 hours, or until the apples are tender but still hold their shape.
05 - Stir gently to coat the apples in the sauce before serving. Enjoy warm as a dessert or side dish.
