Bacon Cheeseburger Rolls (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Dough

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
03 - 1 teaspoon salt
04 - 1 packet active dry yeast (2¼ teaspoons)
05 - ¾ cup warm water
06 - 2 tablespoons olive oil

→ For the Filling

07 - 1 pound lean ground beef
08 - 6 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked and chopped
09 - 1 cup yellow onion, finely diced
10 - ½ cup fresh tomato, diced and drained
11 - 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
12 - Salt and black pepper to taste

# Instructions:

01 - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Pour in warm water and olive oil, then stir until a shaggy dough forms. Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 5-8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
02 - Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, then drain any excess fat. Set aside to cool slightly.
03 - On a floured surface, roll the dough into a large rectangle, about 12x16 inches. Evenly spread the cooked beef over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Sprinkle with bacon pieces, diced onion, tomato, and shredded cheese.
04 - Starting from the long edge, tightly roll up the dough like a jelly roll. Pinch the seam to seal. Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 12 equal slices, each about 1-inch thick.
05 - Preheat oven to 375°F. Place rolls cut-side up in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake for 22-25 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the dough is cooked through. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Pat the diced tomatoes dry with paper towels to prevent soggy rolls
02 - Cook bacon until crispy for the best texture contrast
03 - Use a sharp serrated knife to cut clean slices without squishing
04 - Serve with ketchup, mustard, or pickle relish for authentic burger flavor
