Apple Crisp (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 5 cups fresh apples, sliced.
02 - ½ cup granulated sugar.
03 - ½ teaspoon cinnamon for filling.
04 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
05 - ½ cup all-purpose flour.
06 - ⅓ cup old-fashioned oats.
07 - ⅔ cup packed brown sugar.
08 - ¼ teaspoon salt.
09 - ½ teaspoon cinnamon for topping.
10 - ¼ cup (½ stick) butter, melted.

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease deep-dish pie plate or baking dish.
02 - Toss sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Pour into dish.
03 - Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon. Stir in melted butter until crumbly.
04 - Sprinkle topping evenly over apples.
05 - Bake 45-60 minutes until apples are soft and topping is golden. Cover if browning too fast.

01 - Slice apples evenly for consistent baking.
02 - Can add nuts to topping.
03 - Best served warm with ice cream.
