Baklava Babka Buns (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For Dough

01 - 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
02 - ¼ cup granulated sugar
03 - 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
04 - ½ cup warm milk
05 - 2 eggs
06 - ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
07 - ½ tsp salt

→ For Filling

08 - 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
09 - ½ cup pistachios, finely chopped
10 - ¼ cup granulated sugar
11 - 1 tbsp cinnamon
12 - ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

→ For Syrup

13 - ½ cup honey
14 - ¼ cup water
15 - 1 tsp vanilla extract

# Instructions:

01 - Mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, eggs, and melted butter. Knead until smooth. Let rise 1 hour.
02 - Combine nuts, sugar, and cinnamon.
03 - Roll dough into a rectangle. Brush with melted butter, spread filling, then roll tightly. Cut into strips, twist, and coil into buns.
04 - Place in a greased pan, let rise 30 mins. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 mins until golden.
05 - Heat honey, water, and vanilla. Pour over warm buns. Let soak before serving.

01 - These buns combine the twisted, enriched dough of babka with the nut filling and honey syrup of baklava.
02 - For extra flavor, try adding orange zest to the syrup or cardamom to the filling.
