Banana Bread Cookies (Print Version)

Soft, cake-like cookies made with mashed ripe bananas, butter, sugar, eggs, flour, and chocolate chips - like banana bread in cookie form.

# Ingredients:

→ For the Cookies

01 - 3 large ripe bananas
02 - 1 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened
04 - 2 eggs
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
06 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
07 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
08 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
09 - 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and bananas, mixing until well combined.
03 - On low speed, mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined. Don't overmix! Stir in the chocolate chips.
04 - Drop the dough by teaspoonfuls onto the lined cookie sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. The batter will be very wet - don't worry if you can't form it into neat balls. That's totally normal! Bake for 12 minutes, until the edges begin to turn a light golden brown.
05 - Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Enjoy these soft, cake-like cookies that taste just like banana bread!

# Notes:

01 - Use very ripe bananas with lots of brown spots - they're sweeter and have better flavor.
02 - The batter is supposed to be wet and sticky, almost like cake batter. That's what makes these cookies soft!
03 - These cookies are more cake-like than traditional cookies - they're soft and moist, just like banana bread.
04 - Make sure your butter is softened to room temperature so it creams properly with the sugar.
05 - Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
