Ground Beef Chili (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 lbs lean ground beef.
02 - 1 onion, diced.
03 - 1 jalapeño, seeded and diced.
04 - 4 cloves garlic, minced.
05 - 2 1/2 tbsp chili powder, divided.
06 - 1 tsp cumin.
07 - 1 green bell pepper, diced.
08 - 14.5 oz crushed tomatoes.
09 - 19 oz red kidney beans, drained and rinsed.
10 - 14.5 oz diced tomatoes with juice.
11 - 1 1/2 cups beef broth.
12 - 1 cup beer.
13 - 1 tbsp tomato paste.
14 - 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional).
15 - Salt and pepper to taste.

# Instructions:

01 - Mix beef with 1 1/2 tbsp chili powder.
02 - Brown beef, onion, jalapeño, garlic in large pot. Drain fat.
03 - Add remaining ingredients.
04 - Bring to boil.
05 - Reduce heat and simmer uncovered 45-60 minutes until thickened.
06 - Top with favorite garnishes.

# Notes:

01 - Can substitute extra broth for beer.
02 - Any ground meat works.
03 - Gets better next day.
04 - Serves 1 1/2 cups per person.
