Colorful Candied Popcorn (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - ½ cup popcorn kernels (yields about 10 cups popped)

→ Candy Coating

02 - 1 cup granulated sugar
03 - ½ cup water
04 - ¼ cup light corn syrup
05 - ½ teaspoon salt
06 - ½ teaspoon baking soda

→ Coloring

07 - Gel food coloring in multiple colors

# Instructions:

01 - Pop kernels using preferred method. Remove unpopped kernels and place popped corn in large bowl.
02 - Combine sugar, water, corn syrup, and salt in medium saucepan. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves and mixture boils.
03 - Divide syrup into separate bowls and add different gel food coloring to each portion.
04 - Working with one color at a time, pour colored syrup over popcorn and stir quickly to coat before syrup hardens.
05 - Spread coated popcorn on silicone mats or parchment-lined baking sheets to cool and harden.
06 - Once completely cooled and hardened, break popcorn into bite-sized pieces.

03 - Allow to cool completely before breaking apart
