Cheesy Ground Beef Pasta Skillet (Print Version)

01 - 2 cups ziti pasta, cooked (see notes)
02 - 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
03 - 1 lb ground beef
04 - 1 onion, chopped

06 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
07 - 1 teaspoon crushed red chili flakes (optional)
08 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
09 - 2 tablespoons tomato paste
10 - 1/2 cup chopped parsley, plus more for garnish
11 - Salt to taste
12 - 2 cups shredded mozzarella

# Instructions:

01 - Cook pasta according to package directions for al dente, minus 1 minute. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining. Drain pasta without rinsing.
02 - Meanwhile, in a large skillet over high heat, add olive oil and brown the ground beef while breaking it up with a wooden spoon, about 2 minutes. Reduce to medium heat.
03 - Season beef with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Stir in garlic, onions, chili flakes, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, parsley, and 1/2 cup pasta water (or plain water). Simmer until meat is tender, about 8-10 minutes.
04 - Toss in the cooked pasta and 1 cup of mozzarella. Top with remaining cheese and cover with lid to melt. Garnish with additional parsley before serving.
