Cheesy Ground Beef Quesadillas (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Filling

01 - 1 lb ground beef
02 - 1 small onion, finely chopped
03 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
04 - 1 teaspoon ground cumin
05 - 1 teaspoon chili powder
06 - ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
07 - ½ teaspoon oregano
08 - Salt and black pepper to taste
09 - ¼ cup salsa or tomato sauce (optional)

→ Assembly

10 - 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)
11 - 4 large flour tortillas
12 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
13 - Butter or oil for frying

# Instructions:

01 - Brown ground beef in large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
02 - Stir in cumin, chili powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add optional salsa or tomato sauce, simmer 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in cilantro if using.
03 - Heat clean skillet over medium heat. Place tortilla in pan, add cheese on one half, layer with beef mixture, top with more cheese. Fold tortilla.
04 - Cook 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy and cheese melts. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
05 - Cut into wedges and serve hot with optional toppings like salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.
