Chocolate Salami (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base ingredients

01 - ¾ cup Bolacha Maria biscuits or any tea biscuit, digestive biscuit, or vanilla cookie
02 - ¼ cup toasted nuts of choice, coarsely chopped (optional)

→ Chocolate mixture

03 - 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate
04 - ¾ stick unsalted butter
05 - 6 tablespoons milk
06 - A splash of alcohol of choice such as Kahlua, Amaretto, brandy, or rum (optional)
07 - Powdered sugar for coating

# Instructions:

01 - Place biscuits in a large zip lock bag and crush them using a rolling pin until small coarse crumbs form. Transfer crumbs to a large bowl and stir in nuts.
02 - In a medium bowl, combine chocolate and butter. Heat in the microwave or a double boiler until melted and smooth. Add milk and alcohol (if using), then stir. Pour the chocolate mixture into the crumb mixture and mix until fully combined.
03 - Spread the mixture onto parchment paper or plastic wrap. Shape it into a log using a spatula or spoon. Roll up the paper and twist the ends to seal. Chill in the fridge for 3-4 hours until firm.
04 - After chilling, remove the log from the paper and dust with icing sugar on all sides. Use your hands to spread the sugar evenly over the surface.
05 - Slice the chilled log into pieces for serving. Store leftovers in the fridge or freezer. If frozen, let sit at room temperature for a few minutes before cutting or serving.
