Quick Bananas Foster Dessert (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 3 tablespoons butter
02 - ½ cup dark brown sugar
03 - 1 teaspoon vanilla
04 - 2 tablespoons rum
05 - ½ teaspoon cinnamon
06 - 2 bananas, sliced in half lengthwise
07 - 3 tablespoons chopped walnuts or pecans

→ For Serving

08 - Vanilla bean ice cream

# Instructions:

01 - In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add brown sugar, vanilla, rum, and cinnamon. Let it come to a simmer, then add banana slices and nuts.
02 - Cook bananas for 4 minutes on each side, or until nicely caramelized. Gently move them around to prevent sticking.
03 - Remove from heat and serve hot over scoops of vanilla ice cream.
04 - For gas stove: Cook as above but without rum. Turn off gas, add rum, reignite stove. If pan doesn't ignite naturally, carefully tilt to catch flame. Shake pan until flames subside.

01 - Be extremely careful when using the flambé method - ensure proper safety precautions
02 - Can be made with either walnuts or pecans based on preference
03 - Best served immediately while sauce is hot
