Easy Creamy Garlic Penne (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Pasta

01 - 8 oz penne pasta

→ Sauce Base

02 - 3 tablespoons butter
03 - 3 garlic cloves, minced
04 - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

→ Sauce Liquids & Seasonings

05 - ¾ cup chicken broth
06 - ¾ cup milk
07 - ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
08 - Salt and pepper to taste
09 - 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
10 - ½ cup Parmesan cheese, divided

# Instructions:

01 - Cook and drain pasta. Add a teaspoon of oil to keep it from sticking.
02 - In a large skillet, melt the butter and saute the garlic for about a minute.
03 - Mix in the flour and cook it for another minute.
04 - Whisk in the chicken broth and milk. Add in the red pepper flakes, half of the parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Cook until thickened.
05 - To the sauce, add the cooked pasta and the rest of the parmesan cheese. Serve while hot.

# Notes:

01 - Can be made vegetarian by using vegetable broth.
02 - Add protein or vegetables for a more substantial meal.
