Easy Air Fryer Grilled Cheese (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Sandwich Essentials

01 - 4 slices sandwich bread
02 - 4 slices cheese (try 2 cheddar and 2 Havarti for great flavor)
03 - 3 tablespoons butter, softened (or mayonnaise as alternative)

# Instructions:

01 - Spread butter or mayonnaise evenly on one side of each piece of bread. This creates that perfect golden, crispy exterior.
02 - Place one piece of bread spread-side down in your air fryer basket. This will be the bottom of your sandwich.
03 - Layer 2 slices of cheese on top of the bread in the basket, then place another piece of bread on top with the spread-side facing up.
04 - If using thin bread, insert a toothpick through the center to prevent the top slice from blowing off during cooking. The air circulation can be strong!
05 - Cook at 370°F for 4 minutes. You don't need to preheat most air fryers for this recipe.
06 - Carefully flip the sandwich over using a spatula and cook for another 4 minutes at 370°F, or until both sides reach your desired golden brown color.
07 - Repeat with the second sandwich if making two. Remove toothpicks if used, let cool for a minute, then slice and serve while the cheese is still melty.

# Notes:

01 - Most air fryers don't need preheating for this recipe, but check your manual
02 - Don't overcrowd the basket - cook sandwiches in batches if needed
03 - Use toothpicks with thin bread to prevent the top from flying off
04 - Mayonnaise can be used instead of butter for a different flavor and texture
