French Butter Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - ½ cup butter, room temperature.
02 - ½ cup powdered sugar, sifted.
03 - 1 egg yolk, room temperature.
04 - ½ teaspoon vanilla extract.
05 - 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour.
06 - ¼ cup granulated sugar for coating.

# Instructions:

01 - Cream butter and powdered sugar until light. Mix in egg yolk and vanilla. Sift in flour and mix to form dough.
02 - Wrap dough in plastic, refrigerate 20 minutes.
03 - Divide dough in 2 pieces, roll each into 4-inch log.
04 - Wrap logs, freeze 45 minutes.
05 - Roll logs in sugar, slice ⅜-inch thick. Bake at 356°F for 15-18 minutes until golden.
