French Toast Roll-Ups (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the roll-ups

01 - 10 slices bread
02 - 10 fully cooked sausage links

→ For the French toast coating

03 - 3 large eggs
04 - ½ cup whole milk
05 - 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
06 - ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
08 - 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
09 - Butter for greasing the pan

# Instructions:

01 - Use a rolling pin or your hands to flatten each slice of bread. You can trim off the crusts if you prefer a neater look.
02 - Place one sausage link at the edge of each flattened bread slice and roll up tightly. Set the roll-ups aside on a plate.
03 - In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and flour until completely smooth with no lumps.
04 - Preheat your griddle or large skillet over medium heat. Grease generously with butter to prevent sticking.
05 - Dip each sausage roll-up into the egg mixture, rolling gently to coat all sides evenly. Place on the hot, buttered griddle.
06 - Cook for a few minutes on each side, turning gently and frequently, until golden brown all around. This takes about 8-10 minutes total.
07 - Remove from heat and serve immediately while warm with maple syrup for dipping or drizzling.

# Notes:

01 - You can make the egg mixture up to 1 day ahead and store it in the refrigerator.
02 - Cooked roll-ups can be stored for 1-2 days and reheated in the microwave, toaster oven, or air fryer.
03 - Try sweet variations like Nutella, strawberry cream cheese, or peanut butter banana instead of sausage.
04 - These freeze well for up to 3 months - reheat directly from frozen in the microwave or toaster oven.
