Fried Pizza Bites (Print Version)

Pizza dough cut into squares, filled with seasoned pizza sauce, bell peppers, and mozzarella cheese cubes, sealed and deep fried until golden and crispy.

# Ingredients:

→ For the Pizza Bites

01 - 1 batch pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
02 - 1 cup pizza sauce or ketchup
03 - Chili flakes to taste
04 - Oregano to taste
05 - Bell peppers (capsicum), finely chopped
06 - Mozzarella cheese, cubed
07 - Oil for deep frying
08 - Water for sealing

# Instructions:

01 - In a bowl, mix the pizza sauce or ketchup with chili flakes and oregano. Stir well to combine.
02 - Roll your pizza dough into a long rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Try to keep the thickness even - about 1/4 inch works well.
03 - Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough into small squares - about 3x3 inches each.
04 - On each square, spread a small spoonful of the pizza sauce mixture, add some chopped bell peppers, and place a cube of mozzarella cheese in the center.
05 - Dip your finger in water and run it along all four edges of each square. Bring all the corners together to meet in the center and pinch the edges tightly to seal, forming little pouches. Make sure they're completely sealed so the filling doesn't leak out during frying.
06 - Heat oil in a deep pan or pot to about 350 degrees. Carefully drop the pizza bites into the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry for about 2 minutes or until golden brown on all sides. Don't overcrowd the pan.
07 - Remove the fried pizza bites with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Let them cool slightly before serving - the cheese inside will be very hot! Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

# Notes:

01 - These are great for kids and toddlers - just make sure they cool down enough before serving!
02 - You can add any veggies you like - try mushrooms, olives, onions, or even pepperoni.
03 - Make sure to seal the edges really well or the filling will leak out when frying.
04 - The cheese inside gets super hot, so let them cool for a few minutes before eating.
05 - You can prepare these ahead and fry them when ready to serve - just keep the sealed bites covered in the fridge.
06 - These are best eaten fresh and warm, but leftovers can be reheated in the oven at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
