Garlic Butter Sausage Pasta (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 lb smoked or Italian sausage, sliced bite-sized.
02 - 2 tablespoons butter (for sausage).
03 - 1 tablespoon olive oil.
04 - 3 cloves garlic, minced.
05 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning.
06 - Salt and pepper to taste.
07 - Fresh parsley for garnish.
08 - 12 oz pasta (penne or fettuccine).
09 - 2 tablespoons butter (for pasta).
10 - 1 1/2 cups heavy cream.
11 - 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese.
12 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder.
13 - 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional).

# Instructions:

01 - Brown sliced sausage in oil 4-5 minutes per side. Remove from pan.
02 - Melt butter in same skillet, cook garlic 1-2 minutes. Return sausage and add seasonings.
03 - Boil pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
04 - Melt butter, add cream and garlic powder. Whisk in Parmesan until smooth.
05 - Toss pasta with sauce, adding pasta water if needed. Top with sausage and garnish.

01 - Keeps in fridge up to 3 days.
02 - Can substitute chicken or shrimp for sausage.
03 - Add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms if desired.
