Ground Turkey Pasta (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 12 ounces penne pasta.
02 - 2 tablespoons olive oil.
03 - 1 large yellow onion, diced.
04 - 1 pound ground turkey.
05 - 2 teaspoons salt, divided.
06 - ½ teaspoon black pepper.
07 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning.
08 - 5 cloves garlic, minced.
09 - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour.
10 - 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth.
11 - 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce.
12 - 1 cup half and half.
13 - 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded.
14 - 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded.
15 - Fresh parsley for garnish.
16 - Red chili flakes for garnish (optional).

# Instructions:

01 - Boil pasta in salted water until just under done.
02 - Save 1 cup pasta water before draining.
03 - Heat oil in large pan over medium heat.
04 - Cook onions until soft (5 minutes).
05 - Add turkey, cook until browned.
06 - Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning.
07 - Add garlic, cook 1 minute.
08 - Sprinkle flour over meat, stir well.
09 - Pour in broth and tomato sauce, simmer.
10 - Add cooked pasta and half-and-half.
11 - Mix in half the cheeses.
12 - Top with remaining cheese.
13 - Cover until cheese melts.
14 - Garnish with parsley and chili flakes.
