Nut Brittle (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup salted butter.
02 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar.
03 - 1/2 cup light corn syrup.
04 - 1/3 cup water.
05 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
06 - 1/2 cup almond slices.
07 - 1/2 cup salted peanuts.

# Instructions:

01 - Line baking sheet with parchment.
02 - Measure all ingredients before starting.
03 - Melt butter over medium-high heat.
04 - Add sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir until sugar melts (2 minutes).
05 - Insert candy thermometer.
06 - Cook to 300°F, stirring often (15 minutes).
07 - Stir in baking soda.
08 - Add nuts quickly.
09 - Pour onto prepared sheet and spread evenly with spatula.
10 - Cool for 30 minutes, then break into pieces.

01 - Work quickly once mixture reaches temperature.
02 - Optional: Toast nuts beforehand for easier spreading.
