Italian-Style Winter Soup (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 tablespoons olive oil.
02 - 3 cloves garlic, minced.
03 - 2 tablespoons chopped onion.
04 - 4 (3.5 ounce) links Italian sausage, sliced.
05 - 8 cups chicken stock.
06 - 1 teaspoon dried oregano.
07 - 1 tablespoon dried basil.
08 - ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley.
09 - 2 cups uncooked white rice.
10 - ½ cup heavy cream.

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oil in large pot over medium heat. Cook garlic and onion 3 minutes until tender.
02 - Add sliced sausage and brown well on all sides, about 5 minutes.
03 - Add stock, oregano, basil, and parsley. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 1 hour.
04 - Add rice and simmer 30 minutes longer.
05 - Stir in cream. Remove from heat and let rest briefly before serving.
