Jolly Rancher Candy Apples (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Candy Apples

01 - 6 medium apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
02 - 2-3 bags Jolly Rancher hard candies (assorted flavors or single color)
03 - 1-2 tablespoons water
04 - Wooden skewers or popsicle sticks

→ Optional Decorations

05 - Colorful sprinkles
06 - Edible glitter
07 - Melted chocolate for drizzling

# Instructions:

01 - Wash and thoroughly dry the apples. Remove stems and insert wooden skewers or popsicle sticks into the top of each apple, pushing about halfway through for stability.
02 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Make sure you have space in your refrigerator or a cool area for the apples to set.
03 - Unwrap Jolly Ranchers and sort by color if making different colored apples. Place candies in a small, heavy-bottomed saucepan with 1 tablespoon of water. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until completely melted. Be careful not to burn the candy.
04 - Alternatively, place unwrapped candies in a microwave-safe bowl with 1 tablespoon of water. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until completely melted (usually takes 2-3 minutes total).
05 - Working quickly, dip each apple into the melted candy, tilting the saucepan or bowl and rotating the apple to coat it evenly. Allow excess candy to drip off.
06 - If using decorations like sprinkles or edible glitter, apply them immediately after dipping while the candy coating is still wet.
07 - Place the dipped apples on the prepared baking sheet and allow them to cool and set completely, about 30 minutes at room temperature or 15 minutes in the refrigerator.
08 - Once the candy coating has hardened, the apples are ready to serve. For storage, place in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

# Notes:

01 - Tart apples like Granny Smith work best as they provide a nice contrast to the sweet candy coating.
02 - One bag of Jolly Ranchers (about 13 oz) will coat approximately 3-4 apples, depending on their size.
03 - Different flavors of Jolly Ranchers will create different colored coatings: green for apple, red for cherry, blue for blue raspberry, etc.
04 - For best results, make sure apples are room temperature and completely dry before dipping.
