Lasagna Burger (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Burger Patties

01 - 1 lb ground beef, 80% lean
02 - 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
03 - Salt and black pepper to taste

→ Lasagna Layers

04 - 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
05 - 3/4 cup marinara sauce
06 - 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

→ Garlic Herb Buns

07 - 2 large hamburger buns
08 - 2 tablespoons butter, softened
09 - 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
10 - 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

# Instructions:

01 - In a large bowl, gently mix ground beef with Italian seasoning until just combined. Form into 2 large patties and season both sides with salt and pepper. Make a small indent in the center to prevent puffing while cooking.
02 - In a small bowl, mix softened butter with Italian seasoning and garlic powder until well combined. Set aside for brushing the buns.
03 - Preheat grill to high heat with the lid closed. Once hot, reduce to medium-high heat for cooking the patties.
04 - Place seasoned patties on the grill and cook for 3 minutes per side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired internal temperature. Don't press down on the patties while cooking.
05 - While burgers cook, spread garlic herb butter on the cut sides of both bun halves. Place cut-side down on the grill until golden with grill marks, about 1-2 minutes. Remove and set aside.
06 - Place bottom buns on plates. Add a spoonful of marinara sauce, then the cooked burger patty, dollops of ricotta cheese, more marinara sauce, and a generous amount of mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layering once more if desired.
07 - To melt the cheese, either place assembled burgers under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, or turn off one side of the grill, place burgers on foil on the cooler side, and close the lid until cheese melts. Top with upper bun and serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - Use 80% lean ground beef for the best flavor and juiciness
02 - Don't skip the garlic herb butter on the buns - it adds authentic Italian flavor
03 - You can adjust sauce and cheese amounts to your preference
