Marbled Sugar Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temp.
02 - 1/2 cup full fat cream cheese, room temp.
03 - 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar.
04 - 1 large egg, room temp.
05 - 2 tsp vanilla bean paste or extract.
06 - 1 tsp almond extract (optional).
07 - 3 cups all-purpose flour.
08 - 1 tbsp cornstarch.
09 - 1/2 tsp baking powder.
10 - 1/2 tsp fine salt.
11 - 3 cups powdered sugar.
12 - 3 tbsp meringue powder.
13 - 1/4 cup room temp water.
14 - 2 tsp vanilla or almond extract.
15 - Extra water for consistency.
16 - Gel food coloring.

# Instructions:

01 - Beat butter and cream cheese until smooth.
02 - Add sugar, beat until light.
03 - Add egg and extracts, mix.
04 - Whisk dry ingredients separately.
05 - Mix wet and dry just until combined.
06 - Chill dough 2 hours.
07 - Roll 1/3 inch thick, cut shapes.
08 - Chill shapes 15 minutes.
09 - Bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes.
10 - Mix powdered sugar and meringue powder.
11 - Add water and extract, beat to stiff peaks.
12 - Add water for flooding consistency.
13 - Divide and color portions.
14 - Create marble effect, dip cookies.
15 - Let dry 1 hour.

01 - Keep dough and cut cookies chilled.
02 - Don't overwork dough.
03 - Cover icing to prevent crusting.
04 - Can freeze decorated cookies.
