Position your oven rack at the very top and turn on the broiler to get it nice and hot.

Make a lengthwise cut in each date and remove the pit, creating a perfect pocket for the filling.

Carefully stuff each date with a generous amount of mascarpone cheese, then sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top of each one.

Arrange the stuffed dates on a lined baking sheet and drizzle them with the maple syrup.

Broil for about 3 minutes until they turn slightly golden. Keep a close eye on them - they can burn quickly!
