Mini Meatball Cupcakes (Print Version)

Mini muffin tin cupcakes made with crescent dough, topped with partially cooked meatballs, pizza sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese.

# Ingredients:

→ For the Meatball Cupcakes

01 - 24 small frozen meatballs (1 oz size)
02 - 1 (8 oz) tube Pillsbury crescent dough sheet
03 - 1 cup pizza sauce
04 - 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

→ Optional Topping

05 - Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
02 - Cook the frozen meatballs according to the package instructions, but only cook them for half the recommended time. Since they'll be cooking again once they're baked in the dough, you don't want them fully cooked yet.
03 - While the meatballs are cooking, open the tube of Pillsbury crescent dough sheet and place it onto a large cutting board.
04 - Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into 24 equal squares. This should be a fairly simple task since the dough already comes perforated - just follow those lines and cut to create equal portions.
05 - Grease a 24-count mini muffin tin with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
06 - Place one cut dough square into each cup of the mini muffin tin, pressing gently so it sits at the bottom.
07 - Using a small spoon, evenly distribute about 1 teaspoon of pizza sauce onto the bottom of each dough square.
08 - Place one partially cooked meatball on top of the sauce in each cup. Gently push the meatball down so the sauce spreads around it.
09 - Top each meatball with approximately 1 more teaspoon of pizza sauce.
10 - Evenly top each sauce-covered meatball with shredded mozzarella cheese. You can also add a little grated Parmesan cheese if desired for extra flavor.
11 - Bake for 10 to 14 minutes until the dough is thoroughly cooked and lightly golden. The exact time may vary depending on your oven.
12 - Allow the meatball cupcakes to cool for a few minutes before carefully removing them from the pan using a small fork or knife to help lift them out.
13 - Serve warm with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping. These are best enjoyed fresh from the oven!
