Mint Kiss Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 10 tablespoons butter, room temperature.
02 - 1 cup powdered sugar.
03 - 1 whole egg.
04 - 1 egg yolk.
05 - 1 teaspoon peppermint extract.
06 - 6-12 drops green food coloring.
07 - 2 cups all-purpose flour.
08 - ¾ teaspoon baking powder.
09 - ¼ teaspoon kosher salt.
10 - 24 chocolate kisses.

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oven to 350°F and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, then mix in egg, yolk, and peppermint extract.
03 - Mix in 6 drops food coloring, adding more if needed for desired shade.
04 - Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt until combined.
05 - Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on cookie sheet.
06 - Bake 7-9 minutes until just set but slightly underdone.
07 - Let cool 2 minutes, press chocolate kiss into each cookie, then move to wire rack.

# Notes:

01 - Don't overbake - cookies should be slightly underdone.
02 - Can roll in sugar before baking if desired.
03 - Add kisses while cookies are still warm but set enough to hold shape.
