Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meat Base

01 - 1 pound lean ground beef
02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
03 - 1 small onion, finely diced
04 - 1 green pepper, diced
05 - 4 cloves garlic, minced

→ Sauce

06 - 1 cup reduced sodium beef broth
07 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch
08 - 1½ teaspoons beef bouillon
09 - 2 tablespoons ketchup
10 - 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
11 - 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

→ Seasonings

12 - 1 teaspoon each dried oregano and parsley
13 - ½ teaspoon each salt, pepper, dried basil, paprika
14 - ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes

→ Assembly

15 - 6 brioche hamburger buns
16 - ¾ cup freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese
17 - 6 slices provolone cheese
18 - Softened butter or mayo for brushing (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Split and butter buns, toast cut-side up for 5 minutes
02 - Cook beef, onions, and peppers in oil until browned. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds
03 - Whisk broth, cornstarch, and bouillon. Add to meat with remaining sauce ingredients and seasonings
04 - Cook until most liquid absorbs but mixture stays saucy, about 5 minutes. Stir in cheddar cheese
05 - Divide mixture on buns, top with provolone. Bake 5-10 minutes until cheese melts
