High Protein Waffles (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - ⅓ cup protein powder (32g)
02 - ¼ cup flour (35g)
03 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
04 - ⅛ teaspoon salt

→ Wet Ingredients

05 - ½ cup water
06 - ¼ cup egg whites or additional water
07 - ¼ cup yogurt or applesauce
08 - 2 tablespoons sweetener of choice
09 - 2 teaspoons oil (optional for crispy waffles)

# Instructions:

01 - Whisk dry ingredients well.
02 - Stir in wet ingredients to form a batter. Depending on the type of protein powder, you may need to add more liquid a tablespoon at a time to achieve a pancake or waffle batter texture.
03 - Preheat according to instructions for your specific waffle maker. Once hot, grease very well.
04 - Pour batter into the center of the iron. Close, and cook according to manufacturer's directions until the waffle is light and crispy. Re-grease the iron between waffles to prevent sticking.

# Notes:

01 - Works with spelt, white, or some gluten-free flours.
02 - Reduce water by 2 tablespoons if using liquid sweetener.
03 - Grease waffle iron well between each waffle.
