01 -
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
02 -
In a medium-sized skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until the beef is completely browned and no pink remains.
03 -
Season the cooked beef and onions with salt and black pepper to taste.
04 -
Carefully drain off any excess fat from the beef mixture.
05 -
Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of taco seasoning and 1/4 cup salsa to the beef. Stir to combine evenly. Taste and add more seasoning if desired.
06 -
Spray or lightly brush both sides of each tortilla with olive oil. This helps them get crispy in the oven.
07 -
Place the oiled tortillas on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
08 -
Put about 1/4 cup of the seasoned taco meat on each tortilla. Top with 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese.
09 -
Fold each tortilla in half to create a taco shape. Don't worry if they're not perfectly folded - they'll still be delicious!
10 -
Bake the tacos for 10 minutes until they start to crisp up.
11 -
Remove from the oven and carefully flip each taco over using a spatula. At this point, you can add extra cheese to the tops if desired.
12 -
Bake for another 5 to 10 minutes until the tortillas are golden and crispy. Watch them towards the end to prevent burning.
13 -
Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Serve hot with salsa or pico de gallo and sour cream on the side for dipping!
