01 -
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
02 -
Brown the ground beef with the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain the excess grease if needed.
03 -
Season the meat with the salt, pepper, and garlic blend. Add the tomato paste and cook for a couple of minutes, stirring to coat everything.
04 -
Stir in the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and ketchup. Let it simmer for a few minutes to blend all the flavors.
05 -
In a bowl, mix the biscuit mix with the milk (or water) and 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese until just combined.
06 -
Spread the sloppy joe mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese over the top of the meat. Spread the biscuit batter evenly over the cheese layer.
07 -
Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the biscuit topping is cooked all the way through and golden brown.
08 -
Mix the melted butter with the seasoning packet from the biscuit mix and brush it all over the hot biscuit topping. Serve hot and enjoy this comfort food classic!
