Bourbon Chicken (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 3 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs.
02 - 1 cup light brown sugar.
03 - 1 cup soy sauce.
04 - 1/3 cup bourbon whiskey.
05 - 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar.
06 - 1/2 tsp ground ginger.
07 - 1 tbsp honey.
08 - 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes.
09 - 4 cloves garlic.
10 - 3 tbsp cornstarch.
11 - 2 tbsp water.
12 - 1/4 cup green onions.

# Instructions:

01 - Place trimmed chicken thighs in slow cooker.
02 - Whisk brown sugar, soy sauce, bourbon, vinegar, ginger, honey, pepper flakes, garlic.
03 - Pour over chicken. Cook high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours.
04 - Remove chicken and chop roughly.
05 - Mix cornstarch with water, whisk into sauce.
06 - Return chicken to sauce, stir, and cook until bubbling.
07 - Top with green onions, serve over rice.

# Notes:

01 - Can substitute apple juice for bourbon.
02 - Works with cubed chicken breast.
03 - Add sesame seeds for garnish.
