Spaghetti Alfredo (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 16 ounces spaghetti noodles.
02 - 1 stick butter.
03 - 2 cups heavy whipping cream.
04 - 3 cloves garlic, crushed.
05 - Salt and pepper to taste.
06 - 1 cup grated parmesan cheese.
07 - 1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed.
08 - 24 ounces spaghetti sauce.
09 - 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese.

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
02 - Cook spaghetti in boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup pasta water before draining.
03 - Melt butter in large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook garlic 30 seconds. Add cream and cook until thickened. Remove from heat, season with salt and pepper. Stir in parmesan until melted.
04 - Toss cooked spaghetti with alfredo sauce. Spread in prepared baking dish.
05 - Brown Italian sausage in skillet, drain fat. Stir in spaghetti sauce.
06 - Spread meat sauce over pasta. Top with mozzarella cheese.
07 - Bake 25-30 minutes until bubbly and cheese is melted. Optional: garnish with fresh basil or parsley.

01 - Can substitute ground turkey for lower calories.
02 - Can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
03 - Freezes well up to 3 months.
04 - Can be split into two 8x8 pans - one to bake, one to freeze.
