Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, preheat it with the oven.

Roll out pizza dough to desired thickness on a floured surface. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza peel.

Spread tomato sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust.

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the tomato sauce.

Arrange chorizo slices on top of the cheese.

Lightly brush the crust with olive oil. Sprinkle oregano and garlic powder over the pizza, if desired.

If using a pizza stone, slide the pizza onto the stone and bake for 10–12 minutes. If using a baking sheet, bake for 12–15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

Remove pizza from the oven, cool slightly, garnish with basil or parsley, slice into 8 pieces, and serve immediately.
