Flaky Strawberry Cream Cheese Puffs (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Pastry and Filling

01 - 1 package store-bought puff pastry, thawed
02 - 8 oz cream cheese, softened
03 - 1/4 cup powdered sugar
04 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
05 - 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced

→ Finishing Touches

06 - 1 egg for egg wash
07 - Granulated sugar for sprinkling

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
02 - In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy, then gently fold in the diced strawberries
03 - On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into heart shapes using a heart-shaped cookie cutter
04 - Place a spoonful of the cream cheese filling on half of the heart cutouts, leaving some space around the edges. Top with another heart cutout and press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for an extra seal
05 - Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the tops of the heart puffs. Sprinkle with granulated sugar for a sweet finish
06 - Place the heart puffs on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving
