01 -
Place the freeze-dried strawberries in a food processor or blender. Pulse until they become a fine powder. If you're using pre-made strawberry powder, you can skip this step.
02 -
In a small bowl, combine the strawberry powder and powdered sugar, mixing until evenly distributed. Transfer this mixture to a large ziplock bag or container with a tight-fitting lid. Set aside.
03 -
Place the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat as white chocolate can burn easily.
04 -
Place the Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl. Pour the melted white chocolate over the cereal and gently fold with a rubber spatula until all pieces are evenly coated. Work carefully to avoid crushing the cereal.
05 -
While the chocolate is still warm, transfer the coated cereal to the ziplock bag containing the strawberry-sugar mixture. Seal the bag, removing as much air as possible, then gently shake and turn the bag to coat all the cereal pieces evenly with the powder.
06 -
Spread the coated puppy chow in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper. Place in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to allow the chocolate to set completely.
07 -
Once set, break apart any clusters and transfer the strawberry shortcake puppy chow to an airtight container. It can be stored at room temperature for up to one week. Serve in bowls, cups, or snack bags for a portable treat.
